What’s the difference between machine cutting and manual cutting?

Machine cutting saves material and works faster. But not all car data is accurate, leading to imperfect edge wrapping.

Manual cutting is more flexible for perfect edge finishing but slower and uses more material.

Are small scratches normal during installation?

Yes, minor scratches during installation are normal, not quality defects. They will disappear after installation is completed.

Is soft coating better than hard coating?

No. Exaggerated instant-repair marketing for soft coating is misleading; it’s only visual effect, not real protection.

Soft coating: Easy to be corroded and fused by contaminants, higher long-term maintenance cost.
Hard coating: Better antifouling and corrosion resistance, lower maintenance cost over time.
Installers care about easy application and edge wrapping; customers should focus on protection performance, no paint damage and maintenance cost.

Is thicker PPF always better?

7.5mil & 8.5mil balance easy installation and protection best.

10.5mil is ultra thick, with great protection but requires high professional skill for difficult edge wrapping.

What is the structure of the 5-layer PPF?

Why does TPU material matter?

Premium aliphatic TPU avoids hydrolysis. Ordinary aromatic TPU will hydrolyze and stick to car paint in 3–5 years. Our imported Argotec TPU has far better stability.

Why is the adhesive layer important?

It won’t activate too early during positioning, keeps stable long-term adhesion after activation. Most importantly, it can be removed smoothly later without damaging original paint.

Why does PPF still turn yellow even with good material?

Only aliphatic TPU resists yellowing far better than inferior aromatic TPU.

But UV rays, long outdoor parking (over 6h daily), temperature over 60℃, bird droppings and improper cleaning all accelerate yellowing.

7.5mil: yellows fast then stabilizes
10.5mil: yellows slowly but ends up with deeper yellow degree

What are the PPF removal & installation notes?

Peel off slowly from bottom to top; do not pull hard to avoid paint damage.
Heat gun or steam engine for aid: steam engine for beginners, heat gun for pros.
Not recommended for headlight film: factory headlight coating is too thin and may peel off with PPF.
Optimal construction temperature: 25℃.
